This Argument deals with undercover work performed in Facebook groups and how it posed safety risks to vulnerable individuals and created mistrust among those self-identifying as having ADHD.
<aside> ☹️ BBC, however, claims in their BBC Response 1B & Analysis (WIP 🚧), paragraph [17] that they always observed all the rules on this, so it’s likely pointless to further try and accuse them of this unless they are ready to provide documentary evidence.

<aside> ✍️ The undercover approach employed in the episode raised ethical concerns, particularly regarding the team’s involvement in closed Facebook groups. This violates Section 7.3.7 (Privacy), as the approach posed safety risks to vulnerable individuals and created mistrust among those self-identifying as having ADHD. The lack of transparency about the researcher's identity and intentions further undermined the credibility of the output and reinforced harmful stereotypes.

So they are now saying a female researcher joined closed Facebook groups, openly stating her identity and intention?
It would be interesting to ask the admins of those groups if this is true because she would have had to disclose this in the joining questions...
If she did and the admins let her in - to potentially spy on vulnerable women for who knows how long - that is something that raises safety concerns for me.
Also, did they put out a general 'I'm a researcher for a BBC documentary, please contact me if you'd like to be involved' in the groups or were people targeted and approached via dms? The potential to find unhappy patients and privately message them is highly worrying - and if that's what they did, unethical and immoral. Wasn't it Rory the Tory himself saying in the articles on this shittumentary that when doing his 'reaserch,' he joined those Facebook groups? And even if it is how they said that it was one of the other producers, who is female, that joined those groups - how does it make it better (https://www.reddit.com/r/ADHDUK/comments/14keio0/comment/jprkpug/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
